Learning outcomes:

Acknowledgement and correct use of the principles of conservation to a specific case.
Acknowledgement and correct use of the relationship between building survey, building documentation and decision making process in conservation.

Content:

The themes proposed each year are aimed to confront students with specific and real situations (historic monument in its cultural or natural setting), which they are required to analyse from the point of view of contemporary restoration doctrine. Students are asked to propose specific measures and interventions of conservation for (different each year):

- urban historic building, 19th Century
- monastery ensemble, 17th-18th Centuries
- manor house, 16th-19th Centuries
- selection of towers from the ensemble of the Citadel of Sighișoara

The site visit to Sighișoara is scheduled for Saturday, March 5th 2022. Meeting at the Clock Tower, at 10.00 h and again at 12.00 h.
