Entry requirements and tuition fees

All applicants are expected to pass an English language proficiency test (which is eliminatory) or to demonstrate an English language qualification at international level B2 or higher by one of the following proficiency certificates: FCE (B2 level), CAE (C1 level), CAMBRIDGE PROFICIENCY (C2 level), TOEFL (score 45), IELTS (band 5 minimum), ECL (B2, C1, C2 level), FIDES (B2, C1, C2 level). The candidates should be able to describe and comment architecture related images.

All applicants should pass a qualification test focused on drawing skills and basic competences in the field of study. The test will be held in English. Admission exams are scheduled for July and September.

Tuition Fees

Several subsidized seats are allocated for national and EU students. There are also additional seats for self-supported fee-based students. The tuition fee is the same as for national students.

Non-EU nationals are usually accepted only as fee-based students (except for special situation based on inter-governmental agreements). They can also apply for study grants and scholarships offered by the Romanian Government.

For the students enrolled in the 1st year 2018-2019, the tuition fees are:
EU students – 7000 RON (about 1600 euros) / year
Non-EU students – 3500 euro / year

Documents required for EU candidates

The EU candidates are required to send to the University the following documents:

  1. Application form
  2. Baccalaureate diploma or equivalent – in original or legally certified copy. Validation by CNRED is required. For detailed information please visit: https://www.cnred.edu.ro/en/recognition-studies-european-citizens-admission-undergraduate-studies-in-Romania
  3. Transcript of records for the completed studies – in original or legally certified copy
  4. English language proficiency certificate or application for English language proficiency test at Ion Mincu University
  5. Birth certificate – legally certified copy
  6. Proof of legal name change, if applicable
  7. Copy of the passport / identity card
  8. Two ID type photos (about 3.5 x 4.5 cm)
  9. Graduation diploma issued by a higher education institution – where applicable – in original or legally certified copy
  10. Proof of payment of the registration fee – 300 RON to be payed by bank transfer to the following account:

  11. medical certificate to prove that the person to be registered for studies does not suffer from illnesses that are incompatible with the future profession

The documents are accepted in: English, French, Spanish, Italian or Romanian language. Authorized translation in Romanian for other languages is required.

Documents required for non-EU candidates

The non-EU candidates are required to send to the University the following documents:

  1. Application form
  2. Application form for the Letter of acceptance to study.docx – to be issued by the Ministry of National Education. For details, please visit: https://www.edu.ro/studiaza-in-romania
  3. Copy and legally certified translation of the baccalaureate diploma or its equivalent, authenticated by the competent authorities of the issuing country
  4. Transcript of records for the completed studies – copy and legally certified translation
  5. English language proficiency certificate or application for English language proficiency test at Ion Mincu University
  6. Birth certificate – copy and legally certified translation
  7. Proof of legal name change, if applicable
  8. Copy of the passport
  9. Copy of the document attesting to the stable domicile abroad
  10. Two ID type photos (about 3.5 x 4.5 cm)
  11. Proof of payment of the registration fee – 350 EUR to be payed by bank transfer to the following account:

  12. Medical certificate (in a widespread international language) to prove that the person to be registered for studies does not suffer from infectious diseases or other illnesses that are incompatible with the future profession.
